The Lodge offers several types of Memberships. The two most common are: The Active Membership for those full time, sworn law enforcement officers employed by an Oklahoma government entity and retired State Law Enforcement Officers who elect to remain Active Members. Monthly dues for Active Members are $40.00. The second is an Associate Membership for individual members who are either Civilians employed full time in support of an Oklahoma State Law Enforcement Agency or part-time and reserve Officers. Dues for Associate Members is $15.00 or for those who wish to secure legal coverage, it is $40.00 monthly.
The Active Member is a voting member of the Lodge and is eligible for elected positions. The Active Member receives the full Legal Defense Plan. This program is designed specifically to cover the law enforcement exposures faced by members of the FOP. The OK FOP Legal Defense Plan pays legal defense costs on behalf of participating members in administrative, civil and criminal actions, both on and off duty. For more information go to the Legal Plan Information page and view the legal defense handbook or www.okfoplegal.com.
The Associate member is not a voting member but may attend meetings, receive all information provided by the Lodge, and participate in legislative efforts. The Associate may choose to participate in the full Legal Defense Plan. Membership costs of participation in the Legal Defense Plan would be the same as an Active Member.
Retired Members are still Active voting Members. Retiree dues are $120.00 annually unless the retiree elects to retain full legal coverage in which case the dues remain $40.00 monthly. The National FOP now has a legal plan especially for the retired members who do not retain full legal through our Lodge. The National plan provides legal coverage for concealed carry. Please see www.FOPLegal.com for more information.
