Membership Types

Active Membership

Our active membership type is for full-time, sworn law enforcement officers working in Oklahoma state and retired state police officers who prefer to remain as active members.

An active member can vote and run for elected positions. He/she also enjoys complete Oklahoma Legal Defense Plan coverage. This is a special program designed to cover the costs of enforcing the law that FOP members are expected to carry out. Meanwhile, the Oklahoma FOP Legal Defense Plan is responsible for settling the legal defense costs of FOP members involved in administrative, civil, and criminal actions, both on and off duty.

For a more detailed overview of the Oklahoma Legal Defense Plan, see the legal defense handbook at Oklahoma FOP Legal Defense Plan. See the administrative handbook at Legal Defense Plan.

Active Member Monthly Dues: $40.00.

Associate Membership

The associate membership type is for individual members who are either employed full-time civilians supporting the work of an Oklahoma state law enforcement agency or part-time and reserve officers.

The associate member cannot vote but may attend meetings, receive all lodge-provided information, and take an active role in legislative services. He/she may also be fully covered under the Legal Defense Plan, with membership expenses the same as those set for active members.

Associate Member Dues: $10.00
Associate Member Dues (with legal coverage): $40.00 monthly

Retired Membership

Retired members are classified as active members with voting rights and pay $120.00 in annual dues unless the retiree wants to have the full legal coverage offer, in which case the dues will be a monthly charge of $40.00.

Additionally, the National FOP has designed a plan for retired members who opted not to get full legal coverage through our lodge. In exchange, he/she gets legal coverage for concealed/carry. Please go to the Legal Defense Plan if you want more information.
